HWIC-D-9ESW-POE | 9-port Cisco EtherSwitch 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX autosensing HWIC with power daughter card |
Note:
-
-
- This part number (HWIC-4ESW-POE / HWIC-D-9ESW-POE) should be ordered only if you require in-line power.
You must also order the matching internal power unit to support in-line power on a Cisco 2800 or Cisco 3800 router. - The HWIC-D-9ESW card provides inline power through only 8 of its ports, ports 0 through 7.
- This part number (HWIC-4ESW-POE / HWIC-D-9ESW-POE) should be ordered only if you require in-line power.
The ninth port (port 8) is intended to be a stacking port, and as such, does not support inline power.
-
- The inline power daughter cards are NOT interchangeable between the 4-port and the (8+1)-port HWICs.
- There is no option to unstack two HWIC switches. When two HWIC switches are in the same chassis,
they can operate only in stacked mode. If the user configures the switches to operate unstacked, the switches
will not operate correctly. All combinations of HWIC switches may be stacked: two HWIC-D-9ESWs, an
HWIC-D-9ESW with an HWIC-4ESW, or two HWIC-4ESWs.

The 8-port asynchronous HWIC, provides 8 asynchronous RS-232 interfaces in DTE format, at
data rates of up to 230.4 kbps.
The 8-Port Asynchronous High-Speed WAN Interface Card and 16-Port Asynchronous High-Speed
WAN Interface Card use one (HWIC-8A) or two (HWIC-16A) high-density 8-port connectors. The
8-port asynchronous cable provides the high-density connector on one end and eight RJ-45 plugs
on the other. RJ-45- to DB-25 modular adapters are used to convert the RJ-45 to DB-25 DTE or
DB-25 DCE connections.

Aladdin eToken
Aladdin eToken is a USB-based smartcard device used for strong user authentication and secured storage. Combining eToken drivers with Cisco integrated services routers helps Cisco partners mount router configuration on eToken drivers and securely send them to end customers. End customers will then upload the configuration directly to the router by attaching eToken to the new USB port.
The USB eToken is supplied by Aladdin Knowledge Systems. To order eTokens or for more information, please contact Aladdin Knowledge Systems at http://www.ealaddin.com/etoken/cisco.
